Cookies & local storage
PocketOwner uses cookies and local storage to provide the web app in a secure and reliable way. We currently do not use any third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Technically necessary cookiesThese cookies are required for the application to work and for you to sign in. Without them, PocketOwner cannot be used.
- Sign-in and session cookies: These cookies are set by ASP.NET Identity and keep your session active after login. They do not contain plain-text passwords but technical tokens used by the server to recognise your session.
- Anti-forgery cookies: Protect forms from misuse (e.g. CSRF attacks) by ensuring that requests really come from your browser.
- Language and region setting: Via a culture cookie (e.g. .AspNetCore.Culture) we store your preferred language so the site loads in the right language next time.
To avoid asking for your cookie consent on every page view, we store your decision in your browser’s local storage (e.g. as an entry po_cookie_consent_v1). No additional personal data is stored in this entry.
Stripe & payment processingWe use the payment provider Stripe to manage your subscription. When you open the “Subscription & Payments” area or the Stripe customer portal, Stripe may set its own technically necessary cookies to provide the payment and customer portal process. These cookies are managed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe’s own privacy policy.
No third-party tracking cookiesWe currently do not use tracking cookies for marketing or advertising purposes (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel). If we decide to use such services in the future, we will inform you in advance and – where required – obtain your explicit consent.
Retention & controlSession cookies are usually deleted when you log out or close your browser. You can delete cookies and local storage entries at any time in your browser settings. In that case, you may need to sign in again and the cookie banner may be shown once more.
